Metode

  1. Baca pertanyaan lebih dahulu agar Anda tahu apa yang dicari.
  2. Baca sekilas bacaan untuk topik dan pokok utamanya; kalimat pertama atau terakhir sering menyatakannya.
  3. Kembali ke baris tepat yang menjawab pertanyaan.
  4. Untuk inferensi, pilih opsi yang paling didukung petunjuk, bukan yang melangkah lebih jauh.
  5. Untuk label dan tabel, terapkan setiap aturan yang sesuai dengan kasusnya dan lakukan perhitungan kecilnya dengan cermat.

Metode

  1. Cari subjek dan predikat kalimat sebelum memilih bentuknya.
  2. Hilangkan frasa (of the …, along with …) dan orang tambahan (you and …) untuk menguji kesesuaian dan bentuk kata ganti.
  3. Periksa setiap klausa: apakah dapat berdiri sendiri? Gabungkan klausa bebas dengan koma + konjungsi atau titik koma.
  4. Periksa pewatas dan daftar: frasa penjelas di samping katanya, butir-butirnya dalam bentuk yang sama.
  5. Untuk pilihan kata dan register, pilih opsi yang tepat, formal, dan ringkas.

Metode

  1. Baca seluruh kalimat dan cari petunjuk konteks: definisi, kontras, contoh, atau sebab dan akibat.
  2. Pecah kata yang tidak dikenal menjadi awalan, akar, dan akhiran, lalu terjemahkan tiap bagian.
  3. Baca istilah medis dari akhiran kembali ke awal (hepat-itis: peradangan hati).
  4. Masukkan setiap pilihan ke dalam kalimat dan periksa apakah maknanya masih cocok.
  5. Pilih makna yang dipakai dalam kalimat ini, meskipun kata itu punya makna sehari-hari lain.
