1Formule e metodi

Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Metodo

  2. Aggiungi precauzioni in base alla via: contatto (camice, guanti), goccioline (mascherina chirurgica), via aerea (N95, stanza a pressione negativa).
  4. Previeni i danni nell’ambiente: misure anticaduta, contenzione solo come ultima risorsa, RACE e PASS per l’incendio.

2Esercizi

1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia

A patient has a weak left leg. Which instruction about using a cane is correct?

  1. AHold the cane in the right hand, on the stronger side
  2. BKeep the cane well out to the side, away from the body
  3. CHold the cane in the left hand, on the weaker side
  4. DMove the cane and the right leg forward together
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile

A nurse notices that the pharmacy has sent the wrong dose and corrects it before giving it. Should the event be reported?

  1. ANo, because the patient was not harmed
  2. BNo, because reporting near misses only blames the pharmacy staff for nothing
  3. CYes, near misses are reported so system weaknesses can be fixed
  4. DOnly if the same error happens three times
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia

How can a patient reduce pain when coughing after abdominal surgery?

  1. AAvoid coughing completely until the stitches have been removed
  2. BCough while bending forward with no support
  3. CHold a pillow firmly against the wound while coughing
  4. DLie flat on their back with arms by their sides
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile

Which patient should the nurse see first?

  1. AA patient with a pain score of 3/10 whose analgesia is due in an hour
  2. BA patient who is waiting for their discharge letter and medicines
  3. CA postoperative patient with SpO₂ 89% on air and a respiratory rate of 28
  4. DA patient who is asking for help to walk to the toilet now
5.MicrobiologiaMedia

3Soluzioni

1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Risposta: A · Hold the cane in the right hand, on the stronger side

Perché è questa la risposta

The cane is held on the strong side and moved forward with the weak leg, so it shares the weight that the weak leg cannot take. It is kept close to the body for stability.

Risposta

A · Hold the cane in the right hand, on the stronger side
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Risposta: C · Yes, near misses are reported so system weaknesses can be fixed

Perché è questa la risposta

Near misses show where errors can slip through and are reported in the same way as errors that reach the patient. Learning from them prevents future harm.

Risposta

C · Yes, near misses are reported so system weaknesses can be fixed
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica

Risposta: C · Hold a pillow firmly against the wound while coughing

Perché è questa la risposta

Splinting the incision with a pillow or folded towel supports the wound and reduces pain, so the patient can cough effectively and clear secretions.

Risposta

C · Hold a pillow firmly against the wound while coughing
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica

Risposta: C · A postoperative patient with SpO₂ 89% on air and a respiratory rate of 28

Perché è questa la risposta

Low saturation with a high respiratory rate shows a breathing problem that could worsen quickly. The other needs are real but not urgent.

Risposta

C · A postoperative patient with SpO₂ 89% on air and a respiratory rate of 28
5.Microbiologia
