1Formule e metodi

Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Metodo

  2. Aggiungi precauzioni in base alla via: contatto (camice, guanti), goccioline (mascherina chirurgica), via aerea (N95, stanza a pressione negativa).
  4. Previeni i danni nell’ambiente: misure anticaduta, contenzione solo come ultima risorsa, RACE e PASS per l’incendio.

2Esercizi

1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia

How should the urethral meatus be cared for in a patient with an indwelling urinary catheter?

  1. AWith routine hygiene, using soap and water during daily washing
  2. BWith daily bladder irrigation using an antibiotic solution through the catheter
  3. CBy sliding the catheter in and out a little to clean it
  4. DWith antiseptic cream applied to the meatus every shift
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile

A nurse finds a patient lying on the floor next to the bed. What should the nurse do first?

  1. AComplete an incident report while the details are fresh
  2. BLift the patient back into bed with a colleague
  3. CAssess the patient for injury before moving them
  4. DTelephone the family to tell them about the fall

  2. BCompletamente supino
  3. CIn posizione a testa in giù
  4. DProno
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile

A patient with a valid DNACPR (DNR) decision, whose death was expected, stops breathing. What should the nurse do?

  1. ANot start CPR, note the time, inform the team and support the family
  2. BStart CPR but stop after five minutes
  3. CLeave the patient and ask the family to wait outside until the doctor comes
  4. DStart CPR and call the cardiac arrest team
5.MicrobiologiaMedia

3Soluzioni

1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Risposta: A · With routine hygiene, using soap and water during daily washing

Perché è questa la risposta

Routine perineal hygiene with soap and water is recommended. Antiseptic creams and routine irrigation do not reduce infection, and moving the catheter in and out carries organisms into the bladder.

Risposta

A · With routine hygiene, using soap and water during daily washing
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Risposta: C · Assess the patient for injury before moving them

Perché è questa la risposta

The first step is to stay with the patient and assess them, including consciousness, vital signs and signs of fracture or head injury, before deciding how to move them. Notifying the provider, documenting and reporting come afterwards.

Risposta

C · Assess the patient for injury before moving them

Risposta: A · Not start CPR, note the time, inform the team and support the family

Perché è questa la risposta

CPR is not attempted when a valid DNACPR decision applies. The nurse notes the time, follows local policy for verifying death, informs the medical team and supports the family.

Risposta

A · Not start CPR, note the time, inform the team and support the family
5.Microbiologia
