1Formule e metodi

Comprensione del testo (test di ammissione)

Metodo

  1. Leggi prima la domanda così sai cosa stai cercando.

  2. Elimina le espressioni (of the …, along with …) e le persone aggiunte (you and …) per verificare la concordanza e il caso del pronome.

3Soluzioni

1.Comprensione del testo (test di ammissione)

Risposta: C · Ana, who reads a paper book for the last hour

Perché è questa la risposta

Experts suggest putting screens away an hour before bed. Only Ana does this, reading a paper book instead.

Risposta

C · Ana, who reads a paper book for the last hour
2.Comprensione del testo (test di ammissione)

Risposta: B · The surgeon is careful despite great experience.

Perché è questa la risposta

Reviewing every step even after hundreds of operations shows thoroughness and care. “Hundreds of times” rules out being new.

Risposta

B · The surgeon is careful despite great experience.
3.Grammatica e uso dell’inglese (test di ammissione)

Risposta: B · “If you feel pain,” the nurse said, “press the button.”

Perché è questa la risposta

When a speech tag interrupts one quoted sentence, commas go on both sides of the tag, and the second part continues in lowercase. C turns the first part into a fragment. British (logical) style may put the first comma outside the marks, but American style keeps it inside.

Risposta

B · “If you feel pain,” the nurse said, “press the button.”
4.Grammatica e uso dell’inglese (test di ammissione)

Risposta: B · The nurse checked the chart and then gave the medication.

Perché è questa la risposta

A keeps both verbs in the active voice with “the nurse” as the subject. B and D still mix passive and active, and C stays passive in the second clause.

Risposta

B · The nurse checked the chart and then gave the medication.
5.Vocabolario sanitario (test di ammissione)

Risposta: B · Out of date

Perché è questa la risposta

Obsolete means no longer used or out of date.

Risposta

B · Out of date
