The press made books cheaper; more books led to more readers; more readers helped ideas spread quickly.
A · They share a common ancestor
Homologous structures have the same basic plan because they were inherited from a common ancestor, even if they now do different jobs. They are evidence of evolution.
答え: D · 3 : 1
Surface area = 6 × 2² = 24 µm² and volume = 2³ = 8 µm³, so the ratio is 24 : 8 = 3 : 1. A 1 µm cube has a ratio of 6 : 1, which shows that the ratio falls as a cell grows.
D · Water vapour in the air condenses on the cold glass
Water vapour in the air touching the cold glass cools, loses energy and condenses into liquid droplets. Dew forms on grass the same way.
B · Sodium sulfate, Na₂SO₄
In Na₂SO₄ the Na⁺ ions are held to the sulfate ion by ionic bonds, while the S and O atoms within SO₄²⁻ are joined by covalent bonds. CH₄ and H₂O are only covalent; NaCl is only ionic.
C · “I feel dizzy,” the patient said.
In American style the comma goes inside the closing quotation mark, and the sentence continues with a lowercase speech tag.
C · When Ana met Lena, Ana gave her a gift.
