B · Eat more fruit, vegetables and whole grains.
Fruit, vegetables and whole grains are high in fibre, which fits the author’s advice. Avoiding fluids and resting in bed go against it.
答え: B · 2
The patient has taken 6 tablets (3 doses of 2). The limit is 8 in 24 hours, so 2 more may be taken, at midnight at the earliest.

B · A mutation in a cell that forms eggs or sperm
Germline mutations, in cells that form gametes, can be inherited. Somatic mutations in body cells, such as UV damage in skin, affect only that person and may cause cancer, but are not passed to children.
D · It increases
Each step down a group adds another electron shell, so the outer electrons are farther from the nucleus and the atoms get larger.
答え: D · 4 × 10⁸
8 ÷ 2 = 4, and 10⁶ ÷ 10⁻² = 10⁶⁻⁽⁻²⁾ = 10⁸. So the answer is 4 × 10⁸. Subtracting a negative exponent adds to it.
C · She took a week’s vacation.
Time expressions can be possessive: a week’s vacation, a day’s work. For plurals the apostrophe follows the s: two weeks’ notice.
C · Getting enough sleep helps students learn and remember new material.
A clearly states the main idea that the rest of the paragraph can support. B and C are off topic, and D is vague.
D · A band that restricts blood flow
A tourniquet is a tight band that slows blood flow in a limb, making the veins easier to find.
A · precarious
Precarious means uncertain and dangerous. A stable, trivial or resolved condition would not need such close monitoring.
