Choose the meaning of the word in bold: “The patient reported pruritus on both arms.”
Choose the word that best completes the sentence: “Her answer was ___: it could be understood in two different ways.”
答え: B · Replacing fluid prevents dehydration in heat.
The passage explains that sweating loses fluid, and not replacing it leads to dehydration and its symptoms, so fluid replacement matters.
答え: C · The letter contains news that has shocked her.
Ignoring the kettle and rereading one line suggest the letter contains surprising or upsetting news that has absorbed her attention.
答え: x = 92 in
単位の換算:1 に等しい係数を、元の単位が消えるように書いて掛けます:3 ft × 12 in/1 ft = 36 in。メートル法の長さ:1 km = 1000 m、1 m = 100 cm = 1000 mm、1 cm = 10 mm。米国の慣用単位:1 ft = 12 in、1 yd = 3 ft、1 mi = 5280 ft、1 gal = 4 qt、1 qt = 2 pt、1 pt = 2 cups、1 ton = 2000 lb。時間:1 h = 60 min、1 min = 60 s、1 day = 24 h、1 week = 7 days。
D · It gets smaller and usually darker
Higher magnification shows a smaller part of the specimen, so the field of view shrinks, and less light reaches the eye. The specimen should be centred before switching to high power.
答え: D · 粗面小胞体とゴルジ体
分泌用のタンパク質は粗面小胞体でつくられ、そのあとゴルジ体が小胞に包装し、小胞が細胞からそれを放出する。
答え: B · About 36 g dissolves and about 14 g stays undissolved
Only up to the solubility limit (about 36 g per 100 g water) can dissolve. The rest, about 14 g, stays as solid, and the solution above it is saturated.
答え: A · 正反応と逆反応が、等しい速さで続いている
平衡では、両方の反応が同じ速さで起こり続けるため、濃度は一定に保たれるが、必ずしも等しいわけではない。
答え: D · personnel
“Personnel” (stress on the last syllable) means the employees of an organisation. “Personal” is an adjective meaning private or belonging to one person.
答え: B · When students study early, they remember more.
