A patient on contact precautions must be taken to another department for a test. What is correct?
ACover wounds, give the patient a clean gown and tell the receiving department
BCancel the test until the precautions are no longer needed, however urgent it is
CPut the patient in a separate elevator with the doors open
DHave the patient wear an N95 respirator during transport
2.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheidMoeilijk
A nurse teaches a patient who has had a splenectomy. Which statement shows a need for further teaching?
A“I will tell all of my health care providers that I have no spleen.”
B“I will get medical help quickly if I get a high temperature.”
C“I will keep my vaccinations up to date.”
D“Now that my spleen is out, a fever is nothing to worry about.”
3.BasisverpleegkundeGemiddeld
Why do nurses often count the respiratory rate while still appearing to take the pulse?
AThe pulse and breathing rates are always the same number
BPatients who know their breathing is watched tend to change it
CIt is not allowed to tell patients that breathing is measured
DCounting breaths is only accurate when the wrist is held
4.BasisverpleegkundeMoeilijk
An AED is about to deliver a shock. What must the rescuer do?
AKeep doing chest compressions during the shock
BHold the patient's hand to reassure them
CMake sure no one is touching the patient
DRemove the pads and place them again
5.MicrobiologieGemiddeld
Hoe zorgt een mRNA-vaccin voor immuniteit?
AHet mRNA bevat verzwakt levend virus
BEen "transformerend principe" uit dode bacteriën kon onschuldige bacteriën in virulente veranderen
CVirussen dragen genen over tussen bacteriën
DRuwe pneumokokken zijn altijd virulenter dan gladde
3Oplossingen
1.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid
Antwoord: A · Cover wounds, give the patient a clean gown and tell the receiving department
Waarom dit het antwoord is
Transport is limited to what is necessary. Infected areas are contained or covered, the patient wears a clean gown, the receiving area is informed and equipment is cleaned afterwards.
Antwoord
A · Cover wounds, give the patient a clean gown and tell the receiving department
2.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid
Antwoord: D · “Now that my spleen is out, a fever is nothing to worry about.”
Waarom dit het antwoord is
People without a spleen are at risk of overwhelming infection, especially from encapsulated bacteria. Fever needs prompt medical assessment, and vaccines are kept up to date.
Antwoord
D · “Now that my spleen is out, a fever is nothing to worry about.”
3.Basisverpleegkunde
Antwoord: B · Patients who know their breathing is watched tend to change it
Waarom dit het antwoord is
Breathing can be changed on purpose, so a patient who is aware of being watched may breathe differently. Counting unobtrusively for a full minute gives a more accurate rate.
Antwoord
B · Patients who know their breathing is watched tend to change it
4.Basisverpleegkunde
Antwoord: C · Make sure no one is touching the patient
Waarom dit het antwoord is
Before the shock the rescuer shouts a warning and checks that everyone is clear. Compressions restart straight after the shock as the AED instructs.
Antwoord
C · Make sure no one is touching the patient
5.Microbiologie
Antwoord
B · Een "transformerend principe" uit dode bacteriën kon onschuldige bacteriën in virulente veranderen
