1Formule e metodi
2Esercizi
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia
Which patient has the highest risk of a burn from a heating pad?
AA healthy young adult with a strained muscle
BA patient with a sprained wrist who is fully alert
CA patient recovering from a cold
DA patient with diabetic peripheral neuropathy
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile
A patient who speaks little English is being discharged with new medications. The patient’s 12-year-old child offers to interpret. What should the nurse do?
AUse a professional medical interpreter
BLet the child interpret, because the family prefers it
CUse simple English and many hand gestures
DGive written instructions in English only
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia
What is tolerance to an opioid?
ANeeding a higher dose to get the same pain relief
BAn allergic reaction to the drug
CA craving to take the drug for its mental effects
DFeeling no side effects at all from the drug
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile
A patient standing for the first time after surgery becomes pale, sweaty and dizzy. What should the nurse do first?
AHelp the patient sit or lie down safely
BLeave the patient standing and fetch the blood pressure machine
CEncourage the patient to keep walking to build strength
DGive the patient a sugary drink while standing
5.MicrobiologiaMedia
DRendono l'amoxicillina attiva contro i virus
3Soluzioni
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: D · A patient with diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Perché è questa la risposta
Reduced sensation, as in peripheral neuropathy, prevents a person from feeling heat damage. Patients with poor sensation, poor circulation or confusion need very close monitoring if heat is used at all.
Risposta
D · A patient with diabetic peripheral neuropathy
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: A · Use a professional medical interpreter
Perché è questa la risposta
Professional medical interpreters reduce errors and protect privacy. Children and other family members may translate wrongly, leave things out or be placed in a difficult position.
Risposta
A · Use a professional medical interpreter
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: A · Needing a higher dose to get the same pain relief
Perché è questa la risposta
Tolerance is a physical adaptation in which the same dose has less effect over time. It is not the same as addiction, which involves craving and harmful use.
Risposta
A · Needing a higher dose to get the same pain relief
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: A · Help the patient sit or lie down safely
Perché è questa la risposta
These signs suggest postural hypotension and a risk of fainting. The nurse lowers the patient safely first, then checks blood pressure and pulse and reports the finding.
Risposta
A · Help the patient sit or lie down safely
5.Microbiologia
Risposta: B · Pseudomonas aeruginosa
È naturalmente resistente a molti antibiotici.
Risposta
B · Pseudomonas aeruginosa
6.Microbiologia
