1Formule e metodi
2Esercizi
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia
A patient is admitted to an inpatient mental health unit. Why are personal belongings checked?
ATo decide which family members may visit
BTo remove items that could be used to harm self or others
CTo find out what the patient likes to wear during the hospital stay
DTo make a list of valuable items for insurance
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile
A patient rescued from a house fire has a headache and confusion, but the pulse oximeter reads 99%. Why might this reading be misleading?
APulse oximeters always read falsely low after any kind of smoke exposure
BConfusion and headache make pulse oximetry readings inaccurate in every patient
CThe reading is accurate, so carbon monoxide poisoning is ruled out
DPulse oximetry cannot tell carbon monoxide-bound hemoglobin from oxygen-bound hemoglobin
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia
On the first step of the WHO analgesic ladder, which drugs are used?
AStrong opioids such as morphine
BNon-opioids such as paracetamol (acetaminophen) or an NSAID
CWeak opioids only, such as codeine
DGeneral anaesthetic drugs given in low doses
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile
At the start of a shift, which task should the nurse do first?
AOrder supplies for the ward store room
BUpdate the ward whiteboard with the names of all the new patients
CChange the bed linen of a patient who is going home
DGive the first IV antibiotic dose to a patient with suspected sepsis
5.MicrobiologiaMedia
3Soluzioni
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: B · To remove items that could be used to harm self or others
Perché è questa la risposta
Belongings are searched with the patient, according to policy, for items such as sharp objects, cords, drugs and lighters. These are stored safely to reduce the risk of self-harm or violence.
Risposta
B · To remove items that could be used to harm self or others
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: D · Pulse oximetry cannot tell carbon monoxide-bound hemoglobin from oxygen-bound hemoglobin
Perché è questa la risposta
Standard pulse oximeters read carboxyhemoglobin as oxyhemoglobin, so SpO2 can look normal in carbon monoxide poisoning. A blood carboxyhemoglobin level confirms it, and high-flow oxygen is given.
Risposta
D · Pulse oximetry cannot tell carbon monoxide-bound hemoglobin from oxygen-bound hemoglobin
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: B · Non-opioids such as paracetamol (acetaminophen) or an NSAID
Perché è questa la risposta
The WHO ladder starts with non-opioids, adds a weak opioid for moderate pain and a strong opioid for severe pain, with adjuvants at any step. It is still widely taught, although current WHO guidance stresses individual assessment over a strict step-by-step approach.
Risposta
B · Non-opioids such as paracetamol (acetaminophen) or an NSAID
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: D · Give the first IV antibiotic dose to a patient with suspected sepsis
Perché è questa la risposta
In sepsis antibiotics are time-critical, and every hour of delay increases the risk of death. Routine tasks are done afterwards.
Risposta
D · Give the first IV antibiotic dose to a patient with suspected sepsis
5.Microbiologia
Risposta: B · Pseudomonas aeruginosa
È naturalmente resistente a molti antibiotici.
Risposta
B · Pseudomonas aeruginosa
6.Microbiologia
