1Formule e metodi

A patient is on seizure precautions. Which equipment should be ready at the bedside?
ARestraints ready for all four limbs
BWorking suction and oxygen equipment
CA tongue blade to put between the teeth
DAn ice pack to place on the forehead
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile
A patient on a general ward for two days is found to have smear-positive pulmonary TB. What should the nurse do besides moving the patient to an airborne isolation room?
AClose the ward to all new admissions for a full year
BNothing more, because the patient has now been isolated
CInform infection prevention so exposed patients and staff can be identified and followed up
DTell all the exposed patients to start TB drugs at once, before any testing
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia
Which nursing record entry is the best example of objective documentation?
A"Ate well, as usual."
B"Seemed to enjoy the meal."
C"Ate half of lunch; drank 200 mL of water."
D"Had a good appetite today and enjoyed lunch."
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile
On the morning of surgery, a patient who signed the consent form says they do not understand what the operation involves. What should the nurse do?
AReassure the patient that signing the form is enough for consent to be valid
BInform the surgeon so consent can be discussed again before surgery
CSend the patient to theatre, as the form is already signed
DExplain the operation's risks themselves and go ahead
5.MicrobiologiaMedia
BL'epatite A
CL'infezione da Helicobacter pylori
DL'infezione da Salmonella
6.MicrobiologiaDifficile
BTonsillite streptococcica
CVaricella
DMorbillo
3Soluzioni
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: B · Working suction and oxygen equipment
Perché è questa la risposta
Suction and oxygen are kept ready to manage secretions and support breathing during or after a seizure. Nothing is put in the mouth, and restraints are not used because they can cause injury.
Risposta
B · Working suction and oxygen equipment
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: C · Inform infection prevention so exposed patients and staff can be identified and followed up
Perché è questa la risposta
Infection prevention and public health carry out a contact investigation to identify and screen people exposed while the patient was not isolated. Treatment of contacts depends on their test results.
Risposta
C · Inform infection prevention so exposed patients and staff can be identified and followed up
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: C · "Ate half of lunch; drank 200 mL of water."
Perché è questa la risposta
Objective entries describe what was observed or measured. Vague or judgemental phrases such as "good" or "as usual" cannot be checked or compared.
Risposta
C · "Ate half of lunch; drank 200 mL of water."
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: B · Inform the surgeon so consent can be discussed again before surgery
Perché è questa la risposta
Consent is valid only if the patient understands the procedure, risks and alternatives. The nurse advocates for the patient and asks the person doing the procedure to discuss it again.
Risposta
B · Inform the surgeon so consent can be discussed again before surgery
5.Microbiologia
