1Formule e metodi
2Esercizi
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia
Why does a nurse wear chemotherapy-tested gloves and a gown when emptying the urinal of a patient who recently had chemotherapy?
AThe urine always contains infectious bacteria after chemotherapy
BChemotherapy makes the urine strongly acidic and corrosive
CThe body fluids can contain active drug for a time after treatment
DThe patient is on airborne precautions after treatment
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile
A patient on an anticoagulant falls and hits their head but says they feel fine. What should the nurse do?
AHelp the patient back to bed and do nothing more if they feel fine
BGive the next anticoagulant dose early to prevent clots from forming after the fall
CWait until the next day to see if a headache develops
DNotify the provider and start neurological observations, because a brain bleed may develop
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia
A dying patient is no longer drinking and breathes through the mouth. What mouth care is most appropriate?
AAvoid mouth care so the patient is not disturbed
BClean the mouth only once a day with a hard toothbrush
CKeep the mouth and lips moist with frequent gentle care
DGive large drinks of water every hour
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile
Five days after hip surgery, a patient suddenly becomes breathless with sharp chest pain and a fast heart rate. What should the nurse suspect?
ANormal recovery after hip surgery
BAnxiety about going home
CA pulmonary embolism
DA chest infection developing slowly
5.MicrobiologiaMedia
BL'immunità adattativa agisce entro pochi minuti dall'infezione
CL'immunità innata usa gli anticorpi e forma memoria; quella adattativa no
DL'immunità adattativa è specifica e forma memoria; quella innata no
6.MicrobiologiaDifficile
CI battericidi agiscono solo all'esterno dell'organismo
DI battericidi agiscono solo sui virus; i batteriostatici sui batteri
3Soluzioni
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: C · The body fluids can contain active drug for a time after treatment
Perché è questa la risposta
Many hazardous drugs are excreted in urine, stool and vomit for a period after treatment. Staff wear protective gloves and gowns when handling these fluids, according to policy.
Risposta
C · The body fluids can contain active drug for a time after treatment
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: D · Notify the provider and start neurological observations, because a brain bleed may develop
Perché è questa la risposta
Head injury in a patient on anticoagulants can cause bleeding inside the skull that shows signs later. The provider is told at once, imaging may be needed and neurological checks are done closely.
Risposta
D · Notify the provider and start neurological observations, because a brain bleed may develop
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: C · Keep the mouth and lips moist with frequent gentle care
Perché è questa la risposta
Frequent gentle mouth care with moist swabs, water sprays and lip balm keeps the patient comfortable. Forcing fluids risks choking and aspiration.
Risposta
C · Keep the mouth and lips moist with frequent gentle care
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: C · A pulmonary embolism
Perché è questa la risposta
Sudden breathlessness, pleuritic chest pain and tachycardia after surgery suggest a clot from the leg has reached the lungs. This is an emergency needing urgent medical review.
Risposta
C · A pulmonary embolism
5.Microbiologia
Risposta: D · L'immunità adattativa è specifica e forma memoria; quella innata no
Perché è questa la risposta
Le difese innate (barriere, fagociti, complemento) agiscono rapidamente e sempre allo stesso modo. L'immunità adattativa (linfociti B e T) richiede giorni, è specifica per ciascun antigene e forma memoria.
Risposta
D · L'immunità adattativa è specifica e forma memoria; quella innata no
6.Microbiologia
