1Formule e metodi
2Esercizi
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia
Which IV fluid can be given with packed red blood cells in the same line?
A0,9% sodium chloride
BLactated Ringer’s (Hartmann’s) solution
C5% dextrose in 0,45% sodium chloride
D5% dextrose in water
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile
A nurse sees a doctor about to insert a central line without a sterile gown, and a polite comment was ignored. Which TeamSTEPPS phrase helps to stop the procedure?
A“Let’s talk about it after you have finished.”
B“I am concerned, I am uncomfortable, this is a safety issue.”
C“I am sure you know what you are doing.”
D“I will mention this to the manager at the next staff meeting.”
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia
How should the ear be positioned when taking a tympanic temperature in an adult?
ALeave the ear alone and insert the probe deeply
BGently pull the outer ear down and back
CGently pull the outer ear up and back
DPush the outer ear forward against the cheek
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile
A potassium result is unexpectedly high and the lab reports that the sample was haemolysed. What does this mean?
AThe result is accurate and needs no follow-up
BThe patient definitely has dangerous hyperkalaemia needing treatment
CThe patient definitely has low potassium
DThe result may be falsely high and the test should be repeated
5.MicrobiologiaMedia
BL'immunità adattativa è specifica e forma memoria; quella innata no
CL'immunità innata usa gli anticorpi e forma memoria; quella adattativa no
DL'immunità adattativa agisce entro pochi minuti dall'infezione
6.MicrobiologiaDifficile
3Soluzioni
1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: A · 0,9% sodium chloride
Perché è questa la risposta
Only 0,9% sodium chloride is compatible with blood. Dextrose (glucose) solutions can cause red cells to clump and break down, and the calcium in lactated Ringer’s (Hartmann’s) can cause clotting.
Risposta
A · 0,9% sodium chloride
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente
Risposta: B · “I am concerned, I am uncomfortable, this is a safety issue.”
Perché è questa la risposta
CUS words (Concerned, Uncomfortable, Safety issue) are agreed language that signals the need to stop and listen. Maximal barrier precautions are part of the central line bundle, so the concern is valid.
Risposta
B · “I am concerned, I am uncomfortable, this is a safety issue.”
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: C · Gently pull the outer ear up and back
Perché è questa la risposta
Pulling the pinna up and back straightens the adult ear canal so the probe points at the eardrum. In young children the pinna is pulled down and back instead.
Risposta
C · Gently pull the outer ear up and back
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica
Risposta: D · The result may be falsely high and the test should be repeated
Perché è questa la risposta
Red cells contain a lot of potassium, so haemolysis during collection can falsely raise the result. The sample is repeated, with the patient assessed in the meantime.
Risposta
D · The result may be falsely high and the test should be repeated
5.Microbiologia
Risposta: B · L'immunità adattativa è specifica e forma memoria; quella innata no
Perché è questa la risposta
Le difese innate (barriere, fagociti, complemento) agiscono rapidamente e sempre allo stesso modo. L'immunità adattativa (linfociti B e T) richiede giorni, è specifica per ciascun antigene e forma memoria.
Risposta
B · L'immunità adattativa è specifica e forma memoria; quella innata no
6.Microbiologia
