1Formule e metodi

Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Metodo

  2. Aggiungi precauzioni in base alla via: contatto (camice, guanti), goccioline (mascherina chirurgica), via aerea (N95, stanza a pressione negativa).
  4. Previeni i danni nell’ambiente: misure anticaduta, contenzione solo come ultima risorsa, RACE e PASS per l’incendio.

2Esercizi

1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteMedia

An infant has had a cleft lip repair. Why are elbow restraints often used?

  1. ATo hold the IV line in place during feeds and stop it being pulled out
  2. BTo stop the infant’s hands reaching the mouth while still allowing arm movement
  3. CTo keep the infant from rolling over in the crib
  4. DTo prevent the infant from sucking a pacifier
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del pazienteDifficile

A nurse notices that the pharmacy has sent the wrong dose and corrects it before giving it. Should the event be reported?

  1. ANo, because the patient was not harmed
  2. BYes, near misses are reported so system weaknesses can be fixed
  3. COnly if the same error happens three times
  4. DNo, because reporting near misses only blames the pharmacy staff for nothing
3.Fondamenti di infermieristicaMedia

Which of these is part of the UK "Sepsis Six"?

  1. AGiving a sedative
  2. BRestricting IV fluids
  3. CMeasuring urine output
  4. DWaiting for a chest X-ray before antibiotics
4.Fondamenti di infermieristicaDifficile

On the sacrum there is a shallow open area with a pink wound bed and no slough. How is this pressure ulcer classified?

  1. ACategory 2
  2. BCategory 4
  3. CCategory 3
  4. DCategory 1
5.MicrobiologiaMedia

Quale organismo causa la febbre tifoide?

  1. AShigella dysenteriae
  2. BSalmonella Typhi
  3. CCampylobacter jejuni
  4. DVibrio cholerae
6.MicrobiologiaDifficile

  1. AL'RNA virale viene tradotto in DNA dai ribosomi
  2. BIl DNA virale viene copiato direttamente dall'RNA polimerasi dell'ospite
  3. CLa DNA polimerasi dell'ospite copia l'RNA senza aiuto
  4. DLa trascrittasi inversa produce DNA dall'RNA virale e l'integrasi lo inserisce

3Soluzioni

1.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Risposta: B · To stop the infant’s hands reaching the mouth while still allowing arm movement

Perché è questa la risposta

Elbow restraints keep the elbows straight so the infant cannot touch the suture line. They are removed regularly, one at a time, for skin checks and movement under supervision.

Risposta

B · To stop the infant’s hands reaching the mouth while still allowing arm movement
2.Controllo delle infezioni e sicurezza del paziente

Risposta: B · Yes, near misses are reported so system weaknesses can be fixed

Perché è questa la risposta

Near misses show where errors can slip through and are reported in the same way as errors that reach the patient. Learning from them prevents future harm.

Risposta

B · Yes, near misses are reported so system weaknesses can be fixed
3.Fondamenti di infermieristica

Risposta: C · Measuring urine output

Perché è questa la risposta

The Sepsis Six are: give oxygen if needed, take blood cultures, give IV antibiotics, give IV fluids, check lactate and monitor urine output, ideally within the first hour.

Risposta

C · Measuring urine output
4.Fondamenti di infermieristica

Risposta: A · Category 2

Perché è questa la risposta

Category 2 (Stage 2 in the US NPIAP system) is partial-thickness skin loss, seen as a shallow open ulcer with a pink-red bed or as a blister. Category 1 is intact skin; categories 3 and 4 are full thickness.

Risposta

A · Category 2
5.Microbiologia

Risposta: B · Salmonella Typhi

Alcune persone diventano portatori cronici, spesso a livello della colecisti.

Risposta

B · Salmonella Typhi
6.Microbiologia

Risposta

D · La trascrittasi inversa produce DNA dall'RNA virale e l'integrasi lo inserisce
