1Formule e metodi

Infermieristica di salute mentale

Metodo

  1. ARemember the decision for more than a year afterwards

A patient with OCD asks the nurse many times an hour, "Are you sure the door is locked?" What is the most helpful approach in his care plan?

  1. ATell him firmly that if he asks about the door again, he will lose his privileges on the ward for the day
  2. BReassure him every time he asks, as often as he needs
  3. CLock and unlock the door in front of him each time he asks
  4. DAnswer once, then follow the agreed plan to limit repeated reassurance
3.Psicologia clinicaMedia

  3. CSolo lo stress
  4. DSolo i geni
4.Psicologia clinicaDifficile

5.FarmacologiaMedia

Which rule applies to intravenous potassium chloride?

  3. CIt must be diluted and given as an infusion, never as an IV push
  4. DIt may be given intramuscularly if there is no IV access
6.FarmacologiaDifficile

A patient with heart failure on furosemide is also given metolazone, a thiazide-like diuretic. Which risk increases most?

  1. ASevere hypertension, tachycardia and fluid retention
  2. BHypoglycaemia and weight gain
  3. CHyperkalaemia and fluid overload
  4. DSevere hypokalaemia, hyponatraemia and dehydration

3Soluzioni

1.Infermieristica di salute mentale

Risposta: D · Understand, retain and weigh the information, or communicate their decision

Perché è questa la risposta

The Act's functional test asks whether the person can understand, retain, use or weigh the information, and communicate a decision. Making an unwise decision does not by itself mean a person lacks capacity.

Risposta

D · Understand, retain and weigh the information, or communicate their decision
2.Infermieristica di salute mentale

Risposta: D · Answer once, then follow the agreed plan to limit repeated reassurance

Perché è questa la risposta

Seeking reassurance relieves anxiety only briefly and keeps the OCD cycle going. In line with exposure and response prevention, the team agrees to limit reassurance and support the patient to tolerate the anxiety.

Risposta

D · Answer once, then follow the agreed plan to limit repeated reassurance
3.Psicologia clinica

5.Farmacologia

Risposta: C · It must be diluted and given as an infusion, never as an IV push

Perché è questa la risposta

Concentrated potassium given as a bolus can cause fatal cardiac arrhythmias. It is always diluted and given at a controlled rate, usually with an infusion pump.

Risposta

C · It must be diluted and given as an infusion, never as an IV push
6.Farmacologia

Risposta: D · Severe hypokalaemia, hyponatraemia and dehydration

Perché è questa la risposta

Combining a loop and a thiazide diuretic gives a strong synergistic diuresis. This can cause marked electrolyte loss and volume depletion, so weight, electrolytes and kidney function are monitored closely.

Risposta

D · Severe hypokalaemia, hyponatraemia and dehydration
