Choose the word that best completes the sentence: “The two drugs are ___, so they can safely be given through the same IV line.”
答え: D · As an example that goes against the claim
The writer describes a friendly cat to argue against the claim that cats are unfriendly. One cat cannot prove a general rule, but it serves as a counter-example.
答え: A · It goes in a circle without real evidence.
The speaker uses trust to prove reliability and reliability to prove trust. This circular reasoning gives no outside evidence.
答え: C · so
“So + adjective + that” shows a result: so hungry that. “Such” is used before a noun phrase, as in “such a long day”.
答え: D · She had eaten before the test began.
Eating happened before the test began, so it takes the past perfect (had eaten). The later action is in the simple past (began).
答え: A · Walk
To ambulate is to walk or move about.
答え: D · compatible
Compatible drugs can be mixed without a harmful reaction; incompatible drugs may form a precipitate or lose effect.
