Choose the meaning of the word in bold: “The nursing student was diligent in her studies.”
Choose the meaning of the word in bold: “The test is non-invasive.”
答え: A · To take the medicine at the same time daily
The doctor said the medicine works best at the same time each day, so the alarm helps him take it at 9 p.m. every day.
答え: C · Friday had the most steps, and Wednesday the fewest.
Friday (9000) is highest and Wednesday (4000) lowest. Steps fell on Wednesday, so they did not rise every day, and Tuesday equals Thursday.
答え: C · five o’clock
The apostrophe in “o’clock” shows that letters are missing from the old phrase “of the clock”.
答え: C · Maria’s and Juan’s phones
When each person owns something separately, both names take ’s. B would suggest shared phones, and D misplaces the apostrophes.
答え: C · Hard-working
Diligent means showing steady care and effort in work.
答え: D · It does not enter the body or break the skin
A non-invasive test, such as a blood pressure measurement or an ultrasound, does not require entering the body.
