答え: D · Longer baking makes the cookies crisper.
The only difference is time: 8 minutes for soft and 11 for crisp, so longer baking produces crisper cookies.
答え: A · Hot, sunny weather increases both.
Both rise because of a shared cause, sunny weather. A link between two things does not mean that one causes the other.

A · Nitrogen
Every amino acid has an amino group (–NH₂), which contains nitrogen. Carbohydrates contain only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
答え: D · Their heads are hydrophilic and their tails are hydrophobic
The phosphate heads are attracted to water, while the fatty acid tails avoid it. In water they form a bilayer with the heads facing the watery fluid on both sides and the tails hidden in the middle.
答え: C · +6
2(+1) + S + 4(−2) = 0, so 2 + S − 8 = 0 and S = +6.
答え: D · 3
[H⁺] goes from 10⁻² to 10⁻³ mol/L, so the pH rises by one unit to 3. Diluting an acid makes its pH higher (less acidic), never lower.
答え: A · whom
After a preposition, use the object form “whom” (as you would say “him”). “Who” is the subject form.
答え: A · Short prepositions in the middle of a title are usually lowercase.
In title case, short articles, conjunctions and prepositions are lowercase unless they are the first or last word. Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are capitalised.
