D · Exercise has many benefits.
The first sentence states the main idea, and the other three give supporting details (specific benefits).
答え: D · 4 p.m.
On Friday the clinic closes at 5 p.m., and walk-ins are seen until one hour before closing, so 4 p.m. 7 p.m. applies Monday to Thursday.
A · A controlled experiment
When researchers assign the treatment and compare it with a control group, it is a controlled experiment, here a randomised controlled trial. In an observational study the researchers only record what happens without assigning treatments.
答え: C · 92
After S phase each of the 46 chromosomes is made of two sister chromatids, so there are 92 chromatids at metaphase. They separate in anaphase, giving each daughter cell 46 chromosomes.
B · Each soap molecule has a polar end that attracts water and a nonpolar end that attracts grease
Soap's nonpolar hydrocarbon tail dissolves in grease, while its charged (polar) head stays in water. The grease is wrapped in tiny clusters (micelles) and rinsed away.
B · She took a week’s vacation.
Time expressions can be possessive: a week’s vacation, a day’s work. For plurals the apostrophe follows the s: two weeks’ notice.
