Which instruction about using a standard walker is correct?
ACarry the walker and use it only when tired
BPush up from the walker to stand from a chair
CWalk well ahead of the walker for balance
DMove the walker forward, then step into it
2.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheidMoeilijk
A handwritten order is hard to read, and the nurse is not sure of the drug name. What should the nurse do?
AChoose the drug that seems most likely from the diagnosis
BHold the drug until the next day without telling anyone
CAsk a colleague to guess what it says
DContact the prescriber to clarify before giving anything
3.BasisverpleegkundeGemiddeld
When should blood cultures be taken in a patient with suspected sepsis?
AAfter the patient has recovered from the infection
BOnly if the temperature rises above 40 °C
COnly after three days of antibiotics, to see if they are working
DBefore antibiotics are given, as long as this does not delay them
4.BasisverpleegkundeMoeilijk
Why must concentrated potassium chloride never be given as a quick intravenous injection?
AIt makes the vein turn blue for a week
BIt can cause a fatal cardiac arrest
CIt makes the potassium inactive in the blood
DIt stops the kidneys from working at once
5.MicrobiologieGemiddeld
3Oplossingen
1.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid
Antwoord: D · Move the walker forward, then step into it
Waarom dit het antwoord is
The patient moves the walker forward, sets it down with all legs on the floor and then steps into it. To stand, they push up from the chair arms, because a walker can tip if used to pull up.
Antwoord
D · Move the walker forward, then step into it
2.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid
Antwoord: D · Contact the prescriber to clarify before giving anything
Waarom dit het antwoord is
Illegible or unclear orders are clarified directly with the prescriber. The nurse never guesses, and a held dose is reported so treatment is not missed.
Antwoord
D · Contact the prescriber to clarify before giving anything
3.Basisverpleegkunde
Antwoord: D · Before antibiotics are given, as long as this does not delay them
Waarom dit het antwoord is
Taking cultures first gives the best chance of identifying the organism. They are collected with strict asepsis, but antibiotics must not be delayed in sepsis.
Antwoord
D · Before antibiotics are given, as long as this does not delay them
4.Basisverpleegkunde
Antwoord: B · It can cause a fatal cardiac arrest
Waarom dit het antwoord is
A sudden rise in blood potassium can stop the heart. IV potassium is given diluted, by a controlled infusion and following strict policy, which is why concentrated forms are tightly controlled.
Antwoord
B · It can cause a fatal cardiac arrest
5.Microbiologie
Antwoord: A · Transductie
Antwoord
A · Transductie
6.Microbiologie
