Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid

Methode

3Oplossingen

1.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid

Antwoord: A · Clean the wound with sterile saline first, then swab clean tissue

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Old exudate contains surface bacteria that may not be causing the infection. The wound is cleaned with sterile saline and then swabbed over clean, viable tissue, ideally before antibiotics start.

Antwoord

A · Clean the wound with sterile saline first, then swab clean tissue
2.Infectiepreventie en patiëntveiligheid

Antwoord: A · Hold the drug and contact the prescriber

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Amoxicillin is a penicillin, so it could cause a serious allergic reaction. The nurse holds the drug, clarifies the allergy and contacts the prescriber for a safe alternative.

Antwoord

A · Hold the drug and contact the prescriber
3.Basisverpleegkunde

Antwoord: A · Keep moving

Waarom dit het antwoord is

SSKIN stands for Surface, Skin inspection, Keep moving, Incontinence and moisture, and Nutrition and hydration. Regular repositioning relieves pressure on the skin.

Antwoord

A · Keep moving
4.Basisverpleegkunde

Antwoord: A · A patient with diabetes who is sweaty and shaky with a glucose of 2,9 mmol/L (52 mg/dL)

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Hypoglycaemia can quickly lead to unconsciousness and seizures and needs immediate treatment. The other patients' needs are important but can wait a few minutes.

Antwoord

A · A patient with diabetes who is sweaty and shaky with a glucose of 2,9 mmol/L (52 mg/dL)
5.Microbiologie

Antwoord: A · Transductie

Antwoord

A · Transductie
6.Microbiologie

Antwoord: D · Clostridium perfringens

Antwoord

D · Clostridium perfringens
