1Formules en methoden

Psychiatrische verpleegkunde

Methode

2Oefenopgaven

A 7-year-old with autism is admitted to a children's ward. Which nursing action is most helpful?

  2. BKeep to his usual routines where possible and prepare him for any changes
  3. CPut him in a busy bay with lots of noise and activity to keep him stimulated
  4. DChange his daily routine often, to help him get used to change
2.Psychiatrische verpleegkundeMoeilijk

A nurse teaches a family member how to use a naloxone kit. Which statement shows a need for further teaching?

  1. A"I'll stay with him, because the overdose can come back."
  2. B"If he doesn't respond, I may need to give a second dose."
  3. C"I'll check his breathing and put him in the recovery position if he is breathing but still not awake."
  4. D"Once I've given the naloxone, I don't need to call an ambulance."
3.Klinische psychologieGemiddeld

  2. BPlacebo's werken alleen bij lichamelijke ziekten
  3. CPlacebo-effecten komen bij depressie nooit voor
  4. DEen placeborespons zo sterk is dat antidepressiva in trials nooit voordeel boven placebo hebben laten zien
5.FarmacologieGemiddeld

During a rapid infusion of vancomycin, a patient develops flushing and a red rash on the face, neck and upper body. What is the most likely cause and action?

  1. AA sign that the infection is spreading; give a second dose
  2. BAn infusion reaction; stop or slow the infusion and inform the prescriber
  3. CA normal effect; increase the infusion rate to finish sooner
  4. DAcute kidney failure; stop all IV fluids and antibiotics at once
6.FarmacologieMoeilijk

A ventilated ICU patient receives vecuronium, a neuromuscular blocker. Why must sedation and pain relief also be given?

  1. AVecuronium causes severe pain at the injection site
  2. BVecuronium stops working unless a sedative is also given
  3. CNeuromuscular blockers paralyse muscles but do not cause sedation or analgesia
  4. DSedatives are needed to prevent vecuronium from causing seizures and agitation

3Oplossingen

1.Psychiatrische verpleegkunde

Antwoord: B · Keep to his usual routines where possible and prepare him for any changes

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Predictability reduces distress. Nurses keep routines, use clear and concrete language, reduce sensory stimulation, use visual supports and work closely with the parents, who know the child best.

Antwoord

B · Keep to his usual routines where possible and prepare him for any changes
2.Psychiatrische verpleegkunde

Antwoord: D · "Once I've given the naloxone, I don't need to call an ambulance."

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Naloxone is short-acting, so the opioid effect can return. Emergency services must always be called, and the person must be watched until help arrives.

Antwoord

D · "Once I've given the naloxone, I don't need to call an ambulance."
3.Klinische psychologie

Antwoord: A · Agorafobie

Antwoord

A · Agorafobie
4.Klinische psychologie

5.Farmacologie

Antwoord: B · An infusion reaction; stop or slow the infusion and inform the prescriber

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Rapid vancomycin infusion releases histamine, causing flushing and itching of the upper body (formerly called "red man syndrome"). It is managed by stopping or slowing the infusion, and sometimes with an antihistamine.

Antwoord

B · An infusion reaction; stop or slow the infusion and inform the prescriber
6.Farmacologie

Antwoord: C · Neuromuscular blockers paralyse muscles but do not cause sedation or analgesia

Waarom dit het antwoord is

Neuromuscular blockers cause paralysis but leave awareness and pain sensation intact. Without sedation and analgesia, the patient could be awake and in pain while unable to move.

Antwoord

C · Neuromuscular blockers paralyse muscles but do not cause sedation or analgesia
