After naloxone reverses an opioid overdose, why must the patient be watched closely?
ANaloxone often causes severe low blood glucose a few hours after the dose
BNaloxone itself causes respiratory depression at high doses
CNaloxone may wear off before the opioid does, so breathing can slow again
DNaloxone makes the opioid stay longer in the body
A patient has received a sodium nitroprusside infusion for several days. He becomes confused and develops a metabolic acidosis. What should be suspected?
AAn allergic reaction to the plastic of the infusion bag
C · Naloxone may wear off before the opioid does, so breathing can slow again
Naloxone acts for a shorter time than many opioids, especially long-acting and slow-release ones. Repeated doses or an infusion may be needed.
答案
C · Naloxone may wear off before the opioid does, so breathing can slow again
8.药理学
C · Cyanide toxicity from nitroprusside breakdown
Nitroprusside releases cyanide, which is normally converted to thiocyanate. With high doses, long infusions or poor organ function, cyanide and thiocyanate can accumulate; the infusion is also protected from light.
停顿 = 57 × 0.04 s = 2.28 s
停顿 = 2.28 s
